General Information |
The Lower Middle-Market
Although it can be defined in different ways, we generally define the lower middle-market as
including companies in the following size range:
- Between $10 million and $150 million in revenues
- Or, between $1 million and $15 million in Earnings Before Interest, Depreciation and Amortization (EBITDA).
This definition could, in many circumstances, grow to include smaller or bigger companies depending on the specific
industry characteristics. Lower middle-market companies tend to be entrepreneurially managed and typically are
controlled by families, a partnership of shareholders, a sole-proprietor or an investment entity.
Experience has taught us that lower middle-market owners and managers tend to have very different needs
in capital event transactions from those in larger companies. Accordingly, our personnel leverage their expertise
and spend the necessary time to review the options, methodology and strategies for achievement of successful outcomes.
We assist our clients by effectively managing important internal constituents (employees, customers, vendors and lenders),
collaborating with other important advisors (legal counsel and accountant) and negotiating with external parties on the
other side of the transaction.
The companies, entrepreneurs, financial institutions and investors that transact in the lower middle-market require an experienced and knowledgeable transaction advisor with expertise in all aspects of this marketplace. It is critical to have knowledge of each of these entities, and how they ultimately work together, in order to reach a successful outcome for a transaction.
Our comprehensive experience as lower middle-market owners, managers, investors
and investment bankers enables us to provide professional services in the manner
that best ensures successful outcomes, regardless of the type of transaction undertaken -
selling a company, raising capital or advising on an acquisition.
We have spent our careers in the lower middle-market and offer that expertise, knowledge and experience to our clients. |
